I am venturing outside of my comfort zone to tell the story of a day in the life of a disabled woman. The disabled woman happens to be me, as I’m sure I couldn’t convince anyone else to do the talking for me.
My New Year’s resolution this year is to become a glass half-full person. Not an easy task, as I am accustomed to using my sarcastic dry wit to get me through more than one difficult day.
But if I push myself out of my cocoon and share my thoughts about what it feels like to be disabled, it may help someone with fears about what could happen to them.
